Fox Glacier - Fiji & New Zealand

A long day today. Left Christchurch on the trans alpine train at 8.15. We travelled through the Canterbury plains heading for the southern alps. The sun shining on the snow peaks did not last long. As we climbed higher, the weather changed and the rain set in. By the time we got off the train at Arthurs pass it was tipping down and this lasted for the next 3 hours as we left the mountains and hit the west coast. By the time we got to the fox glacier it dried up but its cold. The helicopter trip was cancelled due to the inclement weather – we will try again in the morning!
