Hadrian’s Wall is set be lit by beacons from coast to coast, for the fi rst time in its history to launch British Tourism Week next month. Parties are planned in Wallsend and Carlisle on the night of Saturday 13 March while the following weekend (20-21) all National Trust properties in England and Wales will be free of charge to visit. Bernard Donoghue, Co-Chair of the British Tourism Week said: “Tourism is one of the British Economy’s great success stories and this Week gives us an opportunity to celebrate that in every constituency in Britain.
