Manchester airport launches new T1 lounge

More than 100,000 passengers are expected to use Manchester Airport’s new Escape Lounge in Terminal 1, which opens to the public today. The £1.7 million design includes separate areas for relaxation and business, including a self-contained meeting or private function room. ”We set out to create a lounge which would stand out but which also had a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, said the airport’s Commercial Director, Andrew Harrison.   “Our aim was to create a memorable experience for both our business and leisure passengers with great ambiance, service and food made to order, and we have incorporated some quirky touches such as the Scalextric track and Wii which will appeal to all ages, and hopefully help our customers to really enjoy the start of their journey.” The new Terminal 1 Escape Lounge at Manchester Airport was initially announced in April 2010 alongside the launch of the ‘The Travel Extras Store’ on Manchester’s website.  The airport already has an Escape offering in Terminal 2 and hopes to launch a third in Terminal 3 in the near future.
